Bethany & Brody: Secret Garden Wedding at Woodbridge Ponds

I’m so excited to share Bethany and Brody’s wedding at the Secret Garden at Woodbridge Ponds from last weekend – one of the hottest days of the year! It sure made up for the downpour days we had to reschedule their engagement session around in the fall. The day started off with the guys getting ready at a suite at the Best Western Regency and the girls getting ready at Bethany’s parent’s home. Bethany planned not one, but THREE first looks. It was an honour to be there and capture such an emotional morning!

We did their photos at a beautiful, shade-filled private property that a friend generously helped them connect with. Afterward, the bridal party had a chance to refresh and I headed off to shoot some details of the venue right before the ceremony. Can I just mention how much smoother a day goes with an experienced wedding coordinator?! Thank you, Abby and Pepi! Their reception had lots of time for mingling and speeches that created more happy tears. I may have teared up a few times at the reception, while editing, while blogging the photos of Bethany and her father just get me – especially his heartfelt speech.

All the details were gorgeous (mildly obsessed with her dress), but I loved how the icing flowers on their wedding cake were ones that her mom had been saving for about 20 years from Bethany’s grandma  (a nationally known cake decorator) for this day. She told me she “needed a piece of her with them today. We also had a chance for one of my favourite things – to sneak out before the dances and get some portraits in that beautiful sunset light.
